Flute charts are a great way to learn the different fingerings. As a flute teacher, I have often found that beginners have a hard time remembering all the fingerings. Use this flute fingering chart for beginners as a reference!
How to Read the Flute Fingering Chart for Beginners
Reading a flute fingering chart is straightforward once you understand its layout. Each chart displays holes on the flute and the keys you should press or leave open to produce a specific note. The circles represent the keys on the flute, and they are filled or left blank to show whether a key should be pressed down (filled) or left open (blank).
To play a note, simply match your fingers to the keys on your flute as shown on the chart: press down where the chart shows filled circles and leave the keys open where circles are blank. Start with simple notes to get the hang of it, and with practice, you’ll be able to read and play more complex fingerings.
